Bilgewater
Driftwood Isle
This small island has dire wasps and all kinds of crabs. You will have to come here a few times to visit Bronze John.
Los Padres [1] - This quaint town on the edge of lava destruction has no enemies to fight, until you get to -
Fort Dundee [2] - A good place for beginners and medium-level players alike. This place has loads of Navy soldiers, ranging from Sergeants to a few officers and lots of veterans. Good for bladed weapons and voodoo, maybe not so much for grenades. The jail on Padres Del Fuego was in Fort Dundee.
Beckett's Quarry [3] - From Fort Dundee or the Catacombs, you can find yourself in this very dangerous place for medium and beginner characters. The quarry is a silver mine in which Lord Beckett's prisoners are forced to work. The miners can they heal you for a low price of 5 gold, but the quarry is populated by some of the toughest Navy and EITC mercenaries in the game. Also, they are VERY close together, so it's easy to find yourself surrounded when trying to evade attacks. The code means use can't use your pistol, but you can dish out blades and voodoo.
Lava Gorge [4] - Really just a transition spot between the cave entrance and the Catacombs, since there is nothing here but a handful of undead and a couple of bats.
The Catacombs [5] - Accessible from the far side of the island or from a side-entrance through Beckett's, this room contains a number of tough undead and more EITC and Navy baddies. There are high-level undead gypsies, undead raiders and unead grenadiers as well as veterans, officers, hired guns and assassins. There is also a platform where Jolly Roger overlooks the fighting.
El Sudoron [6] - The lush jungle between Beckett's Quarry and Las Pulgas is full of hard to find critters (Stumps, Dread Scorpions, Gators, Fly Traps) as well as a Navy camp with a couple of EITC bad guys too. A great place to find quest enemies. Most of what is in here is good pistol practice. Blades, Pistol and Voodoo can all find plenty of opportunity.
Las Pulgas ("City of Pests") [7] - On the other side of El Sudoron is a small town overrun with undead, and a few valiant Navy. This area can also be reached by swimming left around Padres Del Fuegos from the dock area. The bad news is the residents are all high-level undead gypsies, undead grenadiers and undead raiders. Good news? The village offers all the stores of a regular town and an escape to your ship is a short hop away. As in the quarry, mixing humans and undead makes pistol hard, but cutlass or voodoo is a good option. A group of mediums or a handful of higher-level characters can take advantage of this isolated area.

Padres Del Fuego
Padres Del Fuego ("Fathers of Fire") is recognizable on sight by its towering, black-plumed volcano. This island is run by its de-facto governor, Don Victorio. Pirates and adventurers alike come here to look for ancient treasures lost in the volcano's complex cave system. The island's residents don't much like Pirates, but they appreciate those who defend them from Jolly Roger's encroaching army. The East India Trading Company has recently established a silver mining operation here, but it seems that more than silver may be involved.

Kingshead
This island has been chosen by Lord Cutler Beckett, the force behind the East India Trading Company, to be something of his own personal fortress. It is here that the EITC's less–than–legal doings can be kept secret from prying eyes. Plenty of Navy guards make the fort difficult to approach –– and even harder to escape from.
Isla Perdida
Queen's Nest [2] - This massive hive of Dire Wasps and their larger Terror Wasp cousins is a great leveling place for medium-level players because most of the critters range from Level 6-20. Since Wasps are relatively slow, this is a good opportunity to level pistol as well as blades. Wasps tend not to group up, so leveling staff or grenades here may not be so good.
Isla de Cangrejos
Oddly enough, this Spanish named island is home to the undead French, reanimated by Jolly Roger on his relentless quest to conquer the Caribbean. They will stop at nothing to destroy any and all who set foot on this desolate island. Be sure to take friends and crew along - if not - don't say you weren't warned!
Devil's Anvil
an small rocky island between Port Royal and Tortuga whose shape roughly resembles that of an anvil. This is the island where Hector Barbossa and his pet monkey Jack reside.
Barbossa's Grotto - This treasure-filled cavern is Hector's sanctuary.

Cutthroat Island
Once inhabited only by a legion of ill-tempered crabs, the island is now home to Jolly Roger's growing army of the undead. Here you'll find undead Brigands, Witchdoctors, and Pirates, as well as undead Spanish Banditos, Conquistadors, and Captains. But tread carefully, they're well- armed and have only evil intentions.

Rise of the Privateer

…the Frigate flyin' the French colors was well-armed and rained down fire and brimstone on me hearty crew from the opening volley! The hull of our galleon, The Prowler, was damaged in two places but we managed to stay afloat. After dousing two fires we rejoined the fray and returned the French Frigate a favor by pounding him with our cannons.Joining us under the Spanish colors were two well-armed Sloops with swivel cannons fore and aft. The French had nothing but the single Frigate, which should have been easy prey -- but their Captain was a devilishly good sailor.Slicing through the waters at a good clip, we passed and pounded each other with broadsides. There was only a bit 'o damage to me ship but we splintered the Frigate's hull and the Sloops took out her headsails. Once we got back up to full speed, we circled back around. I ordered me cannoneers to load up a chain shot to take down her main mast. Alas, the fates wouldn't have it. The French Frigate maneuvered to the other side, so's our cannons couldn't reach the canvas. We blasted 'em with a chain shot, which bounced off the thick hull like stinkin' pebbles. I heard the French Captain laugh like a hyena, as our compadres in the Sloops peppered their waterline at the rear. At last, the wretch was now crippled. Coming about for the final blow, we picked up speed and loaded for another broadside volley, as the French Frigate started listing badly to one side. With her hull exposed almost to the keel, we practically sideswiped the scallywag and blew 'em apart! His crew abandoned ship like a bunch of bilge rats. I sent me dinghy to give chase but the scared swine scampered onto their island and vanished into the thick underbrush. We returned to Isla De La Avaricia to celebrate our victory and make repairs. I expect a handsome reward from Captain Avaricia, if he's in a generous mood… and sober. All in all, t'was a profitable first day as a Spanish Privateer.

Who is Jolly Roger?

'Twas a position Jolly Roger long believed he deserved far more than Captain Jack. But when the captain of the Black Pearl gained the seat - though some whisper it was craftily attained -- Jolly Roger's jealous fury raged towards Jack and he vowed vengeance. Jolly Roger then conspired with a Voodoo witch doctor to settle the score. Together, they schemed to rig a card game to trick Jack out of his piece of eight -- the coin and beads entwined in Sparrow's hair -- a symbol of membership to the esteemed Pirate Brethren.Jack coincidentally drew the winning hand through a combination of luck and guile. The victory further enraged Jolly Roger and triggered the ill-tempered loser to brutally slay the witch doctor right on the spot. In his final living moments, the witch doctor invoked a vindictive spell on his slayer. Legend has it that the evil curse doomed Jolly Roger to walk the Earth as the undead. As the shaman's body dissipated into dust, Jolly Roger inherited the all-powerful Voodoo forces of his victim and was then transformed into a skeletal beast with empty gaping sockets for eyes and a gnarled fleshless hoof as his leg. Armed with a sinister flintlock and cutlass contraption in place of a limb, he became the heinous abomination now known as Jolly Roger, the villainous leader of an undead horde. The new power granted him the ability to devour his victims' souls and then raise them from the dead with his own supernatural breath. He began to build an army of undead monsters - each creature becoming an extension of Jolly's own dark soul.Cursed to terrorize the high seas for eternity, Jolly Roger now unleashes his dark powers to raise the rotting remains of dead Pirates to do his evil bidding -- a fate far worse than death. Be forewarned, his abilities are far from being limited to raising the dead. He has inflicted his dark influence upon many natural creatures including: undead alligators, bats, wasps, crabs, scorpions, and deadly stalking tree stumps. They all possess malicious intents akin to Jolly Roger himself. Those who treasure their lives, souls, and loved ones best steer clear of this evildoer's deadly path ... or pay the price, for he will not rest until he becomes absolute ruler of the Caribbean.
